IIHK 2008 Annual Dinner (with a touch of magic!)

Dear Members and Colleagues

The 2008 Annual Dinner of the Insurance Institute of Hong Kong Ltd. will be held on Thursday, 16 October 2008 at the Hong Kong Banker’s Club. This year we are privileged to have Mr Andrew Fung, Director, Hang Seng General Insurance (HK) Co Ltd as our Guest of Honour who will deliver the Keynote Speech, "Investment Outlook for 2009", at our dinner.

We are also very pleased to announce the formalization of our Partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) which will see IIHK become the exclusive provider of the CII’s General Insurance courses in Hong Kong. CII qualifications are considered the Gold Standard by industry practitioners not only in the United Kingdom but around the World. Through this new partnership it is planned that IIHK will provide new modules to it’s existing Diploma programme in general insurance as well as the CII’s normal qualifications.

We are very pleased that Mr Ian Porteous, CII's Head of Regional Business Development in South-East Asia will be attending the dinner. He and our esteemed President, Michael Haynes, will briefly outline our strategic objectives for the future. However, the evening will not be all formality. For the first time we have included a performer whose sleight of hand and dexterity will both amaze and bewilder you.

Full details of the dinner are shown on the reply slip, but please note:

  • Round tables of 10-12 persons each will be charged at HK$8,500 although individuals can book at a cost of HK$760 per person. The price includes welcoming cocktails, dinner, wine and beverages throughout the evening. (No refund for cancellation of reservation.)
  • Company/Friends wishing to make-up/share table shall be accommodated.
  • If vegetarian meals are required please indicate when booking.
  • Black Tie (preferred)

To reserve places, please complete and return the attached reply slip together with a crossed cheque payable to “The Insurance Institute of Hong Kong Ltd. “as soon as possible.

I look forward to seeing you at this year’s dinner, which is an important celebration of the exciting new developments we expect of our new partnership with CII.

Yours sincerely

Michael J Wellsted
